Camille Grandaty – Artist Bio

Camille Grandaty is a ceramic artist rooted in Jingdezhen, the ancient city where earth and fire have whispered through porcelain for over a thousand years. Her practice is a quiet alchemy — a layering of glazes, time, and intention — through which she evokes the fragile strength of nature’s forms, especially the sunflower: a symbol of devotion, memory, and the eternal turning toward light.

Working with the fluid unpredictability of color glaze on porcelain slabs, Grandaty paints not only with brush and mineral, but with heat, air, and silence. Her pieces emerge from the kiln like fossils of feeling — luminous, cracked, blooming — capturing moments in the cycle of becoming and fading.

In her work, the sunflower is not just a flower, but a gesture toward hope, a body shaped by heat, a soul glazed in resilience. Each painting is both surface and depth, an offering shaped by place, fire, and care.
